purple

I was kinda getting tired of my blond blocks that I had in my hair. I had them about a year (and for me, that is like a 100 years!!) I like to change my hair. It is one of the few things in my life that I can change and have instant gratification.

So when I went into my salon and told my hair stylist she was a little shocked that I was choosing purple. (though I don't know why... i think it is pointless to have to actually REMIND people that you are a little rebellious!)

So the conclusion of this story is... I put purple in my hair. I really love it!

broken

I feel broken. In every way possible.

I was watching The Biggest Loser tonight, and I really related to what Irene said about her weight loss journey.

She said something about this being the first time in her life, that she has felt whole, and not broken. That she feels like she can conquer the world. What an amazing feeling!

And I realize that I don't feel like that. I am broken. Not quite whole. Not quite at my fullest potential.

I am going to work on that.

Wish me luck, I have a journey ahead of me.

fantastic 4

Dear diary, today I found out I have two amazing friends. How? Well, they told me they’d be willing to kick someone in the face for me. Now if that ain't true friendship, I don’t know what is. P.S, I think they both secretly have crushes on me. ;)”

This is a text message from a dear friend. Hayley found this in an old phone and sent it on to me. I received the same text at the time. After reading this, I was sucked into walking down memory lane. This was the summer of 2008. The summer my closest friends and I call "The Fantastic 4 Summer". It was a summer where Nathan Rex, Sean Prince, Hayley Lauritzen and myself did everything together. We grew very close.

I moved at the end of that summer back to Utah. Things changed. Sean married and Hayley married. Nathan and I see each other from time to time. And I think that if you sat all 4 of us down at a table, we would pick right back up again where we left off. It was a summer of inside jokes, belly laughs and pranks.

I moved in August. In September, I flew back for a birthday party. Hayley picked me up from the airport. As I was getting my luggage, there were 2 men waiting for me. Nathan and Sean-- Both holding signs that read "Mrs. Cullen".

That summer if full of great memories. And ended with amazing friendships. I am truly grateful for the Fantastic 4.

becoming a princess

I am so excited about the marriage of Prince William and Kate.

Princess Diana has been a secret obsession of mine for years. I remember looking at the news footage of when Princess Diana married Charles. And how heartbroken I was when they divorced. I remember when she died in that horrific crash in Paris. I got weepy when watching the funeral. She is the definition of grace and class.

And now her oldest son is getting married. I am boarder line considering getting up at 4am on the morning of the 29th to watch the wedding! I want to know who the designer of her dress will be. I want to watch every detail of the wedding. I want to know if she will actually wear a tiara or be the modern "royalty" that she is being pegged for being and only wear flowers in her hair.

I love the romance of knowing that the charity that William interned for when he graduated from high school, Kate worked for 6 months after he did. Merely missing each other in Chili by 6 months. I love that they are getting married in Westminster Abby. The same church Diana and Charles married. I think they are a very charming couple. And what girl doesn't dream about marrying a prince!

Cheers to William of Whales and Kate Middleton!

i got towed

On February 14th, my car broke down. On the side of the freeway. During morning rush hour. Call in the tow truck. I had it towed and a new engine coil put in. I got a call around 2pm that day saying it was only going to cost $125. Done!! I can handle that. I went to pick it up that night. Right as the garage was closing. I drove about 2 blocks and.... sputter, sputter... die. Once again, I call the tow truck. (by the way, each time you have your car towed, it is $60.) As the 2nd tow truck shows up and is loading my car onto the truck, the guy says, "has this car ever been towed before?" My response?? "Uh, yes. 10 hours ago.....". To which he replies, "Oh boy, a good Valentine's Day for you, huh? I am assuming you are single, there isn't anyone with you." Yes, thanks Bud. That made my day much better.

So car in the shop AGAIN. This time my ... well... something something engine power plug.... Flex capacitor... is replaced. $175. I pick it up. Awesome! The car is running great. Until Friday night on my way home and the car completely looses power and the engine light comes on. Terrific. (Thank you to my VT for the help and rides! You two are amazing.) So, I take it in again! This time it is spark plugs. $70.

Fast forward Hmmm.... 4 days. I pull into my garage and shut off the car, and I can hear boiling sounds. I pop the hood, and my coolant is boiling out of my overflow. Yay. Next morning, it over heats and I take it to a NEW mechanic. He says my cooling fans are not working. $210. I pick it up... take it home, and the boiling it still going on. I take it back and he says it is the radiator cap and he says that there is a huge oil leak. (that would explain the oil spots on my drive way!) $200 and my car now works. So if you figure it out, I have had my car for 9 days over the past month. The other 21 days, it has been in a mechanic shop.

I can think of a lot of other things I would have rather used the money on. Keep your fingers crossed for my little car.

am I famous?

I admit it. I spend some of my free time looking at wedding photo sites. I don't really have a concrete reason why. I think I just really enjoy looking at happy people. Even if I don't know them. I'll spend hours just going from one wedding site to another, looking at colors of flowers and bridesmaid dresses to the design of the wedding gown itself. I love it.

Well, I discovered today, that I have made it onto a wedding photo website. :) though it was just as a bridesmaid. That's me on the left at my cousin's wedding.
