Enjoying a Cougar moment...

Okay, So I went to see this movie about 2 weeks ago. I also saw it again last night. I don't think I can tell you how funny it is. Zac Efron is just plain charming. And he has acting chops. Who knew!? I mean, yeah, he can dance AND sing in HSM... but he can make you believe he is a 40 something dad trapped in 17 year old "him". well.. Zac. Just try not to giggle when his character says, "We're all in this together".
And I cannot tell you how many times my inner 19 year old swooned at the screen. Starting with the minute he gets out of the Lamborghini. (sigh) Yeah, if I was 19, I would be ALL over that. I think I might have developed a "thing" for Zac. Just don't tell the 12 year olds... they might hold me hostage.
Go see the film. And prepare yourself for "Uncle" Ned. He makes the movie hysterical.

Am I getting old? Or is it just me.....

When I was young, I would walk by my parent's room in the morning and see my dad on the side of the bed just sitting there. It was obvious that he had just woke up. His head was down and his eyes still closed. And every time I saw this, I would say "Dad, what are you doing?" And the same answer, every time "Just sitting here". I would always think this was so funny. I mean, c'mon! You are awake! Get up, lets go! There are so many things to do today!!

This morning, I found myself on the side of the bed, head down. And Sophia came in and said "Tara, what are you doing?". Uh, yeah... to this I replied "I am just waiting for you! Let's go! I am awake! There are things to do!"

No.... no I didn't. That is a lie. (shhh.. just don't tell my dad!)

Alright, One goal tackled!

Yup!! I am alive to tell the tale. I even ran the whole thing! I am so proud of myself.

But to who ever put the hill in mile 2, is mean! I couldn't even keep my emotions in as I crossed the finish line. Now, where can I find a 10k??

Decesions, decisions

I am just going to put this out there and I would like everyone that reads this to please leave a comment in the "comment box". Penny for your thoughts?

I am at a crossroads. I have NO idea what I am supposed to do.

It is not a secret that I don't love it here in Utah. It has had it's good points. I do enjoy the extra time with family. I think most of them are tired of me by now, though. Blake is home from his mission and digging living on his own with friends down in Provo and Clayton is married and has other responsibilities. And Tyler, is just, well, Tyler. He can make it on his own. And so that kind of leaves me... just hanging.

The Pagliaro's want me to come back and work for them. And I love love love them! I know the job, I know the area. I know that I can do school in the day if I want to do that. And things here are getting rough. I am just really feeling.... not settled. And I hate that feeling!

So.... Connecticut, or Utah?

This Weeks Favorite thing...

This is my favorite thing this week. SUNSHINE. Oh man do I love it. It's like being Superman and loosing your powers and then getting them back in the sunshine. Wow, I love the warmth on my skin... and sunglasses... and having my windows down and loud music. Yeah.. Sunshine is great.

Yeah, I did that...

Today, I took Lucas to the park. It was such a lovely beautiful day. And what happened while I was there, made the day that much more beautiful.

As I was sitting on the bench, I overheard a conversation between two mothers.

They each had, what I think was, 4 kids. And the blond one said:
"I am dreading my birthday coming up. I will be 30, and I can't even believe it! I got married in 1999."

The brunette said:
"Yeah, I turned 29 this year and I got married in 2000"

Blond: "I can't believe my life now. Sometimes, don't you wish that you had just run off to New York and lived a little bit before you got married?"
Brunette: "Yeah, totally"

I get really discouraged sometimes when I think of what I am missing in my life. I could have had kids, and a husband. I am sure I would have had a really cute house by now.
But the conversation between these two moms was the best remedy for these "don't have" blues. Because, you see? I did run off to New York to live my life a little bit.

Starlight Star bright...

We have had really nasty cloudy, snowy, yucky depressing weather for the past week or two. I think I almost had seasonal depression!
Tonight the clouds are gone, and what is left is the beautiful gorgeous sky. I forget sometimes how absolutely stunning the night sky is in Utah. Away from the lights of New York City and the tall trees of Connecticut (though I do love the trees!) You can see the night sky for miles here. Living up on a mountain, I can see the whole sky above the valley. It is really quite beautiful tonight.

I am a runner, I run

I have been on my quest for better health for over a year now. (shouldn't that mean I should look like Victoria Beckham by now!?)

I have to admit the going was slow at first. I had/have some dear friends back in CT that decided that we should all make a "Biggest Looser" group. There ended up being about 8 of us. We divided into color teams and everything. We did our weigh ins every Sunday night, with the loosing group from the week before making everyone dinner. We had such a great time.

I started as the heaviest of the group. I was embarrassed the first time I got on that scale. But I am happy to say that I was the ONLY one out of all 8 that never gained anything the whole 6 months that we did that.

Fast forward another 4 months and I am here in UT and I hire a personal trainer. I cannot tell you what a wonderful investment this has been for me. I can run now. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal, but it is HUGE for me. I started doing this whole thing to look better in pictures for Clayton and Anna's wedding. But then I heard of this 5k in SLC and I wanted to make that my goal. I am 3 weeks away from the 5k. And I think I am going to make it. This has been a really great journey. I have discovered things about myself that I didn't know before. And I am proud of myself.

I will keep you posted over the next 3 weeks about how things are going, and my feeling as I get closer to my race.
