Happy 100th Blog to me!! And Happy Birthday to Clayton

Happy Birthday to my brother Clayton. He turns 25 today. I have been thinking about where I was when I turned 25. I was in Ct actually. My first birthday out there. Who knew my life was going to change in so many ways. I keep teasing him about having a "quarter-life crisis". He is pretty grounded though.. new wife, new life. He'll be fine.

About the author: On December 8, 1995 at the age of 43, Jean-Dominique Bauby suffered a massive stroke. This rare condition is called Locked-in Syndrome, a condition wherein the mental faculties are intact but the entire body is paralyzed. Despite his condition, he wrote the book The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by blinking hen the correct letter was reached by a person slowly reciting the alphabet over and over again.

This is Tony Bennett and Bono. Such a suprising match, but it works so well! Love it. I am in an "old school" mood with music lately. The old stuff-- Frank, Billie, Tony, Dean, Rod... yeah. The good stuff.

A Favorite Thing...

so this week my favorite thing are these wasp catchers. I find them so darn charming! I bought mine at Target in the lawn and garden section. I think I might have found something to collect. They come in many different colors and sizes. And of course I don't use them for wasp catching. They are too cute for that!

I work too much

I work way too much. I work about 60-70 hours a week. And I have yet to see any overtime.

So.... I have decided that that means I need a vacation. I just know it will involve a beach. A warm beach. And I want to get sunburned just so I know that I am still alive. Wanna come?

I am really upset...

I hate the weather this time of year. I think it is just a joke between Mother Nature...and who ever is in charge of making snow. It reminds me of those two fairies on Sleeping Beauty... the pink one and the blue one. Remember them? Flora and Merryweather? When Sleeping Beauty is dancing at the end with Prince Phillip, they change the dress she is wearing over and over...

It was a GORGEOUS 75 degrees outside yesterday. I was at a MLS game, and just sat in the sun with a HUGE smile on my face. I was in need of the Vitamin D. And tonight... it is snowing outside. Ugh!

Farewell to a great show...

When I was in high school, my Mom watched ER every week. She loved it. And as I left for college, I watched it. In my head, I thought it was something "grown ups" did. And then something funny happened, I started to like it.
This is the last season. All the old doctors are back for one episode or a few, and it is like old times. (minus the ones that died on the show...)
So, if you are interested in a walk down memory lane... watch the last 3 shows. They are going to be great.

Hey ya'll, sorry I have been slacking at this blog this week! I am going to kill two birds with one stone. So let's get started.

This week, my song pick and my favorite thing is all wrapped up into one.

Rascal Flatts new single. Yeowza! I love these guys. (sigh) Just... listen.

Clayton and Anna's wedding & Blake is home!

Oh my gosh these two are so cute! Anna was just lovely in her dress, and she made Clay look GOOD!! Anna was all smiles, and she had on pink converse. My kinda girl! :)

This is Blake and I. I have one with out his sunglasses, but this one is just so dang cute, I wanted to post it. He is just so handsome. (I don't look half bad)

This is just pure sibling love. We were all excited for Clayton, and were just happy to be at the temple. It was a gorgeous day, and it was great company.

There will be more pictures to come. It is funny how many picture we didn't take with our own camera since there were so many being taken by the photographer. Yeesh.. my smile was almost broken by the end of the day. The wedding was beautiful, though.

May I introduce you to my favorite shampoo and conditioner? Yes, yes, I know the price of it. (sometimes you can get them on a super sale when they have the 2 liters for $20)

I love the smell of this stuff. And I LOVE what it does to my hair. Ahhh. Yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite things.

A huge thank you...

I want to publicly thank Tyler Lewis for getting this photo of my Mom.

As Clayton and Anna's wedding is getting closer, we have been scrambling to get a photo of my Mom to put up at their wedding. We couldn't find one anywhere. We had a few of all of us as a family, but nothing that would work. I told my problem to my friend Tyler and he said he would be willing to see if he could get something out of the family photos. I am sure that this took a great deal of photo shopping seeing that this is a picture taken at an airport. In the original, there is 2 other humans and an airplane in the back ground. :)

This is a picture of my mom 3 days after she found out she had cancer. She never looked like this again. But this is how I always remember her in my mind.

I am profoundly grateful to Tyler for doing this for my family. It means the world to us.

A Favorite Thing: SmartWater

A lot of times, I am at a loss on what to blog about. I try to be funny and witty. And I am hoping I am successful in that. But as I have thought over the past few days, I thought I would 1) put a music pick on my blog once a week (Note my last entry) and 2) blog a "favorite thing" once a week. So let's get started!

I love this stuff. I got hooked back in Connecticut. My employer/friend Dorothy used it all the time, and I would buy it by the case for her. I always thought it was so silly to spend so much money on a bottle of water. (don't get me wrong, I do love me some bottled water. This is just more pricey than most) But I got addicted as soon as I started working out. It could very well be just a mental thing, more electrolytes=more energy. I don't know.. and if that is the case, I am willing to buy it just so that my brain will tell my feet to keep running!

I have decided to post once a week a "music pick". I kinda did this last week, not thinking I would do it again. So this week's pick is: Thriving Ivory

Heating Pad= Stress-be-gone

This is my new favorite thing. I have seen them for years. My grandmother used to use them all the time. And I would always smile when I saw her with it, because she thought it cured everything that ailed her.
I went to get a massage last Saturday. And as I walked in they put one of these on me. I think every stress that I was holding in my shoulders melted away into those grains of rice. It was wonderful.
And so I have turned into my grandmother. I have one and I think it cures everything that ails me.

AUSTRALIA

I had a wonderful experience at the movies on Friday night. Let me introduce you to: AUSTRALIA. What a great film! I am so saddened by the fact that it didn't do well in the theater. If it is a the local dollar theater, go see it. You'll be glad you did!
