speed

Yeah. I did.

I got a stupid speeding ticket. I don't think there is anything worse than the dumb question, "Ma'am, do you know why I pulled you over?". There are a thousand smart remarks that I can think of when they ask me that question.

I am sure it isn't for a better look at my stereo system.

Do you know how fast you were going to keep up with me?

Is this about that warrant out for my arrest in Georgia? Because I thought I paid someone off for that...

If you remember in a previous post, I had learn to keep my inner New Yorker to myself.

But in the end, I am driving a minivan. There can't be any kind of pride or satisfaction for the cop to have pulled one of THOSE speed demons, right?

So here I am, a proud owner of a speeding ticket. While driving a minivan. I promise I am a rebel. Right??

S.A.D.

Happy Single's Awareness Day. If you feel like this post is laced with a little bitterness, you're right. Because I'm laying it on pretty thick....

soy

I have to share my new hair secret. It is the best thing that has happened to my hair since ... well, just about anything. Healthy Hair Soy Renewal. I have to color my hair about every 6 weeks. And so that dries it out and makes it kinda.. yucky. But then my hair stylist (Jill, Holla!) suggested using this. I have tried a lot of those "sleek" glosses or the "silk drops". Yes, they work pretty well, but nothing makes my hair look like this stuff does. I feel like I have beautiful hair every day, just like Jennifer Aniston or Courtney Cox...
Go to your nearest hair retail store, and pick this up. It will change your life. Promise.

little voices

Dear Children,

When I call your name, it is not so that I can hear your little voice say "what?". I means I need you standing in front of me. Preferably in a quick fashion.

Sincerely,

The woman you are driving crazy

the boy

I started going to a new ward at the beginning of the year. I went for a couple of weeks and decided it was time to go to the "new member meeting". There were probably 30-40 people in the room waiting to get the "orientation" on the new ward. We all had to stand up, say our name and something unique about us. So this guy who had it back to me the whole time, (because he was sitting in front of me) stood up turned around and said, " I am ________ and something unique about me, is that my parents..." and I finished the rest of his sentence: live in Hawaii.

So how would I know that you ask? I went to High School with him. In North Carolina. 16 years ago.

So here is the fun part: he was that guy in our ward that all the 14 year old girls drooled over. Everyone thought he was sooo cute. I remember going to his house to see his mom, she was my YW leader at the time, and he answered the door in nothing but soccer shorts. I thought I was going to pass out. I couldn't even form a complete sentence and then turned and walked away without giving his mom what I had came there to do. That is still my #2 most embarrassing moment.

And here he was. 16 years later. Only this time... I was older too and thought it was funny that the cutest guy from my teenage years, was now in my singles ward. I should mention he is 3 years older than me ;)

the name in this post was omitted to protect my pride

cookin slow

Um, so I have been with out an oven for more than a month. Which as you can guess, makes making dinner... very interesting.
So this is for all of my blogging friends... please PLEASE send me any recipes you have for a slow cooker. I am looking for soup, or anything with chicken. Beef is also good.
Thanks all!! I am counting on you... and so are the kids I work for. No pressure!
